Hi, my name is Kevin. Thanks for checking my portfolio!

I have spent the past 7 years working my way up from a web designer to a full-stack web developer, and have enjoyed every step of the journey. I am a constant learner, and I find nothing more rewarding than going from "I don't know how to do this", to "I can do this now!".

I am currently working as a full stack developer for a Japanese digital marketing startup named SENDo, where I work on various projects, including, but not limited to, admin dashboards, internal tools (employee portal, etc), as well as client-facing websites. Thanks to that, I get to work with a wide range of technologies, including React, Remix, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Python, Django and more. It's a challenging role, but I get to use my Japanese skills, and learn new things every day, so I really enjoy it.

Prior to that, I was the front end developer of a Japanese language school, responsible of the development and maintenance of the school's website, as well as the development of various internal tools. I also freelanced for a while as a web designer, creating websites for small businesses and individuals who wanted an online presence.

Unapologetically geeky, I have a wide range of interests, including video games, movies, reading fantasy. When the season is right, I also like to be outdoor, touch grass and disconnect from the digital world for a while.

Responsible of the development and maintenance of the school's website and various internal tools. The website is the primary source of customer acquisition responsible for 60 to 70% of student enrollments. Also designed multiple corporate websites for the group the school belongs to.

Freelance

Building and deploying custom WordPress websites for small businesses and individuals using DIVI page builder and custom themes. Handling both client and technical aspects. I started as a freelance because after self-teaching myself about web development, it was the best way for me to gain valuable experience to transition in my career and in the future obtain a full-time position as a web developer.
